Virtual Telehealth Sessions

Research shows online counselling is an effective and flexible mode of therapy that offers clients easy access to licensed counselling therapists. This option is for those who have busy schedules, or difficulty attending our in-person location. Clients can access counselling from the comfort of their home, after while on their lunch break, after the kids go to bed, or while travelling.

As an added benefit, virtual telehealth sessions are accessible to all Nova Scotians regardless of provincial location.

Online counselling is offered through a secure, encrypted platform to protect your confidentiality. We email you a direct link that is accessible by computer or phone. Each session is 60 minutes in length.

In-Person Sessions

Inspirit offers therapeutic support at our comfortable Windsor Street location, in Halifax’s West End, conveniently located on Oxford Street, across from Sully + Porter Cafe.

This option is for those who prefer face-to-face counselling, or who require a dedicated space that is free from potential distractions.

In-person counselling sessions are 60 minutes long. The counselling space is located on the 2nd floor of the East Coast Hearing building, and a waiting area and washroom are on-site.

Outdoor Sessions

Inspirit offers walk and talk therapy to individuals in Halifax, Bedford, and Dartmouth at nearby public parks, such as Point Pleasant Park, Hemlock Ravine, or Shubie Park.

This option is for those who prefer moving to sitting, those who prefer talking side-by-side (rather than face-to-face), or those who wish to incorporate nature into their therapeutic process. Please note, walk and talk therapy is not intended to be an exercise regimen, although movement is certainly a benefit. Outdoor sessions are 60 minutes long and take place all year round. While walk and talk therapy occurs at a light pace on trails/pathways, clients should monitor their physical condition to participate safely.

A risk assessment is reviewed prior to every session to contribute to client safety, and although outdoor therapy is private, there are limits to confidentiality in a public setting.
